J&B Hopkins Limited is an employee owned trust incorporated in 1978 and has progressively grown and developed significantly over the last forty-five years to provide a full MEP design and build service to the construction industry and direct to end user markets.

Operating out of bespoke built, modern offices in Fareham, Hampshire, with satellite offices in Egham and Horsham, we are able to facilitate our employees in a comfortable and efficient building incorporating PV, advanced ground source heat pumps and air source heat pumps utilising the latest controls for power, heating and cooling technologies.

Where we started...

J&B Hopkins was incorporated in 1978 by John and Barbara Hopkins initially trading from their living room. They soon moved locally, using one room as the company office and their garage as the stores. As the business began to grow, in 1992 they moved into their first self-built office, with a final move to Concorde House in 2006 which is still our company head office today.

After working on his tools and as a foreman across mechanical services companies in both London and the South, John Hopkins decided to start his own company to offer a higher level of service and industry knowledge to his clients.

Working across a number of sectors from the outset lead us to break into the leisure industry; soon offering the company’s services to public house refurbishments and setting the standard for hotel developments across the country.

Captured in 2006, Paul Hopkins, accompanied by members of his then management team, all of whom remain essential contributors to the Hopkins team today – as we relocated to our custom built, present-day head office at Concorde House.

...Where we are now.

Hopkins are now a leading southern based building service company, working across most sectors within the construction industry. Being an employee owned trust allows us to offer equal opportunities to all our staff.

Still offering the same high levels of customer service and industry knowledge we aim to self-deliver our sustainable projects from design through to the installation period and then to maintain the buildings ensuring they operate to the original design principles.

Known throughout the industry for our collaborative problem-solving approach to our projects has ensured a remarkable level of repeat business throughout the years. The leadership team has been working closely together for many years sharing a vision for the company’s future ensuring our decisions are beneficial to all of the staff.

The Leadership Team

Dominic Harman

Dominic joined Hopkins in 2015 as Electrical Operations Manager. Having over 33 years experience in the M&E industry, Dominic has gained knowledge in various aspects of the industry. Having started his career with CW Palmer M&E Contracting and completed a craft apprenticeship, he then progressed through the ranks from Foreman to Contracts Engineer, which involved intensive on-site training and covered the whole spectrum of contract engineering.

Jason Parker

Jason has over 20-years’ experience in the building services industry. He joined Hopkins in 2003 following completion of his apprenticeship. He initially started in the contracts department before moving into design, delivering projects in multiple sectors. Jason joined the Hopkins board in 2018 and now oversees our extensive design team and supports the pre-construction department.

Mike Jenkins

Mike first joined Hopkins in its infancy in the early 80’s. He then moved on to become a Divisional Director at a leading south coast company before re-joining Hopkins as Sales Director in 2016. Mike has a long association within the services sector holding various positions, and joined the Hopkins board in 2019.

Paul Scadding

Paul has extensive knowledge of the building services industry with over 30 years’ experience. Paul’s approach is to always build positive relationships with our clients throughout each key stage of a project and will always strives to provide the client with value for money during the design and pre-construction stage and without compromising either quality or health & safety during the construction, commissioning, and handover phases.

Phil Trevett

Phil joined Hopkins in February 2023, after gathering 10 years’ experience of working at a senior level as a HR professional. He brings with him a wealth of People experience, as well as a passion to develop those around him. Phil gained sales and leadership experience with multinational companies before diversifying into a career within HR.

Richard Niziolek

Richard joined Hopkins in 2018 as Commercial Director, having held a variety of commercial and operational positions. Over the past 29 years Richard has gained extensive experience in the building services industry in various sectors including infrastructure, residential & education.

Scott Adams

Scott has been at Hopkins since 2018 and has helped to develop works in new sectors including, healthcare, MOJ, MOD and most recently the Energy sector. Charged with the operational responsibility of our very own Energy and Special Project departments, Scott also oversees alongside Richard Niziolek the business’ 5- and 10-year strategic plans as an Employee-Owned organisation. Scott enjoys working in new sectors and areas where innovation is core to any project.

Simon Melville

In 2014, Simon became a valuable addition to the Hopkins team, leveraging his extensive experience gained from two national services companies. Entrusted with spearheading the inception of the Technical Services Department, Simon has played a pivotal role in transforming it into an integral component of our business. Under his leadership, this department boasts a robust team that excels in providing both planned and reactive maintenance to a diverse portfolio of key clients across the region.
