National Apprenticeship Week!

At Hopkins we value our apprentices and the fantastic contribution that they bring to our organisation. Our apprenticeship programme is thriving with 18 members currently undertaking training in different areas of the company, which will help support our business direction plan over the coming years.

To help celebrate we asked two of our design apprentices, past and present, to share their thoughts and experiences. Ben Sherwood, who is at the beginning of his career and Jason Parker, who is well into his career and a great example for our apprentices that ‘the sky’s the limit’ with hard work and determination.

After one of the most thrilling football games last night, we are now able to celebrate our J&B Hopkins Ltd World Cup winners!

We put predictions to test and asked who they thought would win the World Cup and how many goals in total would be scored throughout the tournament.

The guesses were close but our winner was……craig. Congratulations also go to Claire and Russell for runners up.

This Christmas we have made foodbank donations to our three regional foodbanks. Today we made our final delivery to Gosport Football Club – a foodbank particularly close to our hearts here at J&B Hopkins Ltd

It was great to see so many people at J&B Hopkins Ltd get involved with Christmas Jumper Day yesterday to help raise important funds for Save the Children

PROJECT UPDATE 🚧🪝🦺👷🏻

Pathology Building at Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital

Last week saw the complex delivery and installation of 8 HTM compliant air handling units which had been manufactured by Air Handling Systems Ltd over a 12-week period and then delivered to site over two days on 5x 45” foot wagons. These were split into 24 sections to allow them to be craned up and fit through the door. The biggest unit being AHU 02 with a total length of 6,960mm, 2,700mm high and 2,550mm wide, this was split into 5 sections and once built on site the total weight was 4,213kg!

The units will supply tempered air to the laboratories, offices, toilets, Cat 3 laboratories and communal areas, whilst simultaneously extracting the air at the same time to provide comfortable and safe conditions to the end user. Heat energy will be recovered via the use of run around coils which combined with the excellent k value of the panels means the units are fully ERP compliant. The largest unit is able to supply over 4.00m3/s of air.

Well done to everyone involved in this seamless delivery and installation, our Client Amiri Construction were most impressed 👏🏻

#TBT to our summer events! ☀️

Hopkins have a long history in supporting charities and sports clubs in the local community and this year is no different. Back in July 2021 Hopkins sponsored the newly formed Hedge End United FC Under 7’s who play the Eastleigh & District Mini Soccer league at Stoneham Park. Hedge End United are a well-established club with teams at most age groups from under 7’s through to under 14’s. The club’s ethos very much aligns with Hopkins with a focus on teamwork, respect, sportsmanship and playing with a smile on your face! Now the season is drawing to a close, we wanted to give you an update on the boys’ progress. The team have done amazing this season, from losing their first game 10–1, they are now holding their own in the top league and playing some great football at times. More importantly the boys are all playing with a smile on their faces and have become best of friends. A big well done to all the boys from us at Hopkins! ⚽️
