PROJECT UPDATE š§šŖš¦ŗš·š»
Ā
Pathology Building at Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital

Last week saw the complex delivery and installation of 8 HTM compliant air handling units which had been manufactured byĀ Air Handling Systems LtdĀ over a 12-week period and then delivered to site over two days on 5x 45ā foot wagons. These were split into 24 sections to allow them to be craned up and fit through the door. The biggest unit being AHU 02 with a total length of 6,960mm, 2,700mm high and 2,550mm wide, this was split into 5 sections and once built on site the total weight was 4,213kg!

The units will supply tempered air to the laboratories, offices, toilets, Cat 3 laboratories and communal areas, whilst simultaneously extracting the air at the same time to provide comfortable and safe conditions to the end user. Heat energy will be recovered via the use of run around coils which combined with the excellent k value of the panels means the units are fully ERP compliant. The largest unit is able to supply over 4.00m3/s of air.
Well done to everyone involved in this seamless delivery and installation, our ClientĀ Amiri ConstructionĀ were most impressed šš»

Hopkins have a long history in supporting charities and sports clubs in the local community and this year is no different. Back in July 2021 Hopkins sponsored the newly formed Hedge End United FC Under 7ās who play the Eastleigh & District Mini Soccer league at Stoneham Park. Hedge End United are a well-established club with teams at most age groups from under 7ās through to under 14ās. The clubās ethos very much aligns with Hopkins with a focus on teamwork, respect, sportsmanship and playing with a smile on your face! Now the season is drawing to a close, we wanted to give you an update on the boysā progress. The team have done amazing this season, from losing their first game 10ā1, they are now holding their own in the top league and playing some great football at times. More importantly the boys are all playing with a smile on their faces and have become best of friends. A big well done to all the boys from us at Hopkins! ā½ļø

Did you know that our head office is called Concorde House. The aircraft naming reflected the treaty between the British and French governments that led to Concordeās construction, the French word concorde, has an English equivalent, concord. Both words mean agreement, harmony or union, which defines the way in which HopkinsĀ strive to partner with our staff, clients and supply chain, and is key to our business model.

We have been delighted to be presented with an original Concorde photograph signed by the 4 pilots, from one of our key supply chain partners,Ā Jon BelfieldĀ of InTandem Systems. He knew that this would take pride of place in our reception to go with our other original Concorde items. Ā Thanks Jon, it looks great!
Congratulations to Bradley Brunsdon, Callum Harman and Alan Farnes for 5 years’ service at Hopkins. Here’s Bradley receiving his length of service award from our Chairman, Paul Hopkins.

Talk Mental Health launched their #385challenge fundraising event, which took place during Menās Health Awareness Week (14th to 20th June) where they challenged people around the UK to attempt 385 of any physical activity during that week.
It was to raise awareness of menās health, the impact such things as; Toxic Masculinity, is having on males of all ages and the over 385 men who die through suicide every month in the UK. Of the 6.500 people lost to suicide annually, 75% are men and it is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45.
We are proud to sponsor the founder of Talk Mental Health and the #385challenge, Nick Wilson, who is currently undertaking a gruelling 385mile cycle as his #385challenge. Follow his story here: https://givepenny.com/talkmentalhealthuk_385challenge
