We’re proud to announce our latest project win: Pusey Lane Student Accommodation, in partnership with Beard Construction. This development comprises 5 three storey townhouses and 8 apartments for Oxford University.
Our scope includes comprehensive M&E services such as internal lighting, access control, Fire Alarm systems, heating & ventilation, sanitaryware, and domestic services. The M&E design is tailored to Passivhaus standards, ensuring exceptional energy efficiency across all systems.
We’re set to commence this exciting project in September 2025, with completion scheduled for Summer 2026.

The Shore Power system is set to revolutionise emissions reduction for ferries docked in Aberdeen. With a robust 1.7 MVA electrical supply, a state-of-the-art substation and an efficient quayside cable management system, paving the way for cleaner, quieter port operations.
This initiative is projected to mitigate over 1,300 tonnes of CO2 equivalent annually, significantly enhancing air quality and reducing noise pollution.
Hopkins Energy is proud to lead this endeavour as the principal contractor, collaborating closely with ABB Marine and Ports and Shorelink.ย ๐ขโก๏ธ

As one of the largest and most ambitious developments the University of Sussex has seen in recent years, West Slope will provide ๐ญ,๐ด๐ต๐ต ๐ต๐ถ๐ด๐ต-๐พ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ผ๐บ๐, replacing outdated accommodation and enhancing the overall campus experience.
The scheme also includes a new supermarket, cafรฉ, and a purpose-built Health and Wellbeing Centre โ placing student experience and welfare at the heart of the design.
With a target of BREEAM Excellent, sustainability is central to the project. Features include green roofs, grey water recycling, heat recovery systems, natural ventilation, photovoltaics and on-site composting.
The project is being led by our South East Contracts team under the direction of Project Director, Nick Humber.

We’re proud to celebrate a significant milestone for our Sales Director, Mike Jenkins โ 10 years (or 16, if you count his earlier tenure!) with Hopkins. ๐
Mike first joined Hopkins in the early 1980s during our formative years. After building a successful career elsewhere, he returned to Hopkins in 2015 to take on the role of Sales Director. In 2019, he joined our Board of Directors.
With decades of experience in the services sector, Mike brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership and industry insight. Heโs a familiar face at networking events, trade shows, and conferences, where he continues to champion Hopkins in-house design and build services.

Reflecting on past achievements is always rewarding amidst our current exciting projects. In 2017, our ๐ฆ๐ผ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ department successfully delivered the complete M&E Services Design & Build for a new 1800 pupil Secondary School, alongside refurbishing the existing Sports Hall building.
From initial concept (RIBA Stage 2) to construction, we ensured compliance with EFA’s requirements and client budget. Working closely with energy modelers, we designed high-efficiency M&E systems meeting stringent energy consumption criteria.
Our commitment to long term performance didnโt end at handover. Thanks to our ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ department, our directly employed team of skilled engineers now support the facility with a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) contract. This ensures the building continues to perform efficiently, with proactive maintenance strategies that maximise system longevity and cost-effectiveness for the client.
