Meet Ashleigh Law, our Document Controller 👋

As we celebrate #SkillsforLife, we’re proud to share Ashleigh’s apprenticeship journey at Hopkins.

“My name is Ashleigh and I’ve been with Hopkins for 2 years, successfully completing my Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship in 2025. I chose Hopkins because my goal is to become an Electrical Project Manager, and I knew this was the best place to explore different departments and learn how projects come together.

During my apprenticeship I’ve worked across HR, Administration, Operations, Design, Tech Services and Document Control. After supporting a range of teams and projects, I was recently promoted to Project Document Controller—an amazing step towards my future career.

I’ve grown so much in confidence, communication, decision‑making and understanding how the industry works. A highlight was running my own project to improve the efficiency of our electric vehicle chargers, working with colleagues from apprentices to Directors.

Hopkins has supported me every step of the way, and my advice to anyone considering an apprenticeship is simple: take every opportunity and never be afraid to ask questions.”

Our Thames Valley Contracts team has successfully completed the Pinn River SEND School in Pinner, earning excellent feedback from our client for both the quality of our installation and the smoothness of our handover process.

The new school will provide 180 places for children and young people with complex learning needs and features specialist classrooms, therapy spaces, a hydrotherapy pool, and a full building‑wide hoist system creating a safe, inclusive environment tailored to individual needs.

Hopkins delivered the full design and build MEP package, including:
• Heating and ventilation
• Domestic water services
• BMS
• Fire and security systems
• Power and lighting
• EV charging
• PV installation

A huge well done to the site team for their hard work, commitment and professionalism throughout this project. We’re proud to have contributed to such an important, inclusive facility. 💙

Earlier this year, Hopkins proudly commenced work on the West Slope Project and the Health and Wellbeing Centre in partnership with Balfour Beatty plc at the University of Sussex campus in Falmer, Brighton.

Our project team recently held a successful end-of-year review, reflecting on strong progress to date:

✅ Out of 23 buildings, we’ve completed 1st and 2nd fix in the residential areas of 3 buildings, covering 376 student accommodation rooms.
✅ Installed two main plant rooms.
✅ Currently working on four additional buildings at 1st fix stage.
✅ The Health and Wellbeing Centre is 1st fixed and now in its second fix stage, on track for commissioning in February 2026.

A huge thank you to our dedicated team and partners for driving this milestone forward. We look forward to continuing this momentum into the new year! ✨

We’re proud to congratulate Geoff Hunt, Estimating Manager, on reaching an incredible milestone – his 25th year with Hopkins!

Geoff joined us in 2000 after a successful career in design and project management. Since then, he has been a guiding presence, inspiring colleagues and strengthening our team with his expertise.

As a mentor to the estimating department, Geoff has helped refine skills and enhance Hopkins’ capabilities. His ability to deliver accurate cost plans has been central to our growth and reputation.

Widely respected across the industry, Geoff is often the first point of call for seeking trusted advice and insight.
