We are delighted to announce we are working in partnership with Kier Construction Southern to deliver the design and build MEP package for the Bournemouth & Poole College located in the Landsdowne Area! ๐ซ
This project encompasses both new construction and renovation efforts. A state-of-the-art teaching facility will replace five existing buildings, consolidating them into a single, advanced structure.ย The new facility will be dedicated entirely to teaching, offering a contemporary learning environment tailored for courses spanning media, computing, sport, fitness, travel, health, social care, hairdressing, beauty, hospitality, and catering. Moreover, it will introduce new amenities for community use, such as a restaurant, gym, and salons.
Our Solent Contracts team will lead the design and installation of the MEP package to the latest environmental standards, the building will operate as net zero carbon, incorporating cutting-edge technologies like air source heat pumps and photovoltaic panels on its roof to ensure optimal thermal efficiency. ๐ทโโ๏ธ ๐ทโโ๏ธ

With our largest order book to date and a design team of 26 eager to share their experiences with each new wave of apprentices, thereโs never been a more exciting time to shine at Hopkins. โจ
This week, we welcomed Nathan Walsh and Connie Grocott as our newest design apprentices. They will be mentored mainly by our Senior Design Engineer, James Mintram, who has recently completed his own apprenticeship with us. Jason Parker, our Design & Pre-Construction Director, began his journey at Hopkins over 20 years ago as an apprentice and credits his training and mentorship for helping him achieve his career goals. We have no doubt that Connie and Nathan will follow in his footsteps and accomplish great things here. Jason and James exemplify how Hopkins is the ideal place to cultivate your skills. ๐คฉ
This investment in our apprentices is part of our recently appointed Design Manager, Paul Wright‘s vision to focus on nurturing talent in his team from a grassroots level.

We were delighted to welcome 18 students from Alabamaโs Auburn Universityโs McWhorter School of Building Science to our current project hosted in partnership with our client EQUANS, the Glengall Road Student Accommodation in London. As part of their technical visit to Europe and the Middle East, they toured the basement and residential spaces of our ยฃ14 million building services project for the The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Building and Engineering Services Association (BESA Group), under the guidance of Kip Bahra, and the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA), the students gained valuable insights into our work, guided by Project Director Michael Reader MIET and Lead Design Engineer James Mintram.
โIt was a genuine pleasure to support the young graduate engineers visiting from America. This initiative not only fostered international collaboration but also highlighted the talent we have nurtured within our own organisation. Our designer, who began their journey with us as a graduate, had the invaluable opportunity to present the project design, demonstrating their growth and expertise,โ said Dominic Harman, our Major Projects Director.
