PROJECT UPDATE 🚧🪝🦺👷🏻
Pathology Building at Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital

Last week saw the complex delivery and installation of 8 HTM compliant air handling units which had been manufactured by Air Handling Systems Ltd over a 12-week period and then delivered to site over two days on 5x 45” foot wagons. These were split into 24 sections to allow them to be craned up and fit through the door. The biggest unit being AHU 02 with a total length of 6,960mm, 2,700mm high and 2,550mm wide, this was split into 5 sections and once built on site the total weight was 4,213kg!

The units will supply tempered air to the laboratories, offices, toilets, Cat 3 laboratories and communal areas, whilst simultaneously extracting the air at the same time to provide comfortable and safe conditions to the end user. Heat energy will be recovered via the use of run around coils which combined with the excellent k value of the panels means the units are fully ERP compliant. The largest unit is able to supply over 4.00m3/s of air.
Well done to everyone involved in this seamless delivery and installation, our Client Amiri Construction were most impressed 👏🏻
