Hopkins provided the complete MEP design and build package for the new conference/meeting building connected to the Maritime Integration and Support Centre. This new building creates a new “non-secret” space for BAE to meet with MOD & VIPs to hold performance reviews and discuss future requirements for the Navy. The building and external spaces reflect a modern office with spacious conference rooms and an opulent reception. Hopkins were involved in the full design and build for the new switchgear fed from the existing main panel in the Misc. building.

J&B Hopkins produced a level 5 Design and specification in accordance with MoD specification.  The project consisted of full MEP installation to convert unused hangar into fully operational MT workshop. MEP and Secure Services installation in the existing armory and new extension. Refurbishment of WC facilities and installation of new kitchenette in building 38 and MEP services in the junior ranks mess and dining room.

J&B Hopkins are strong advocates of renewable energy and energy saving, and over the past 6 years we have installed PV systems ranging from small commercial rooftops right up to large Solar Farms.

The Llanwern Wales 75Mw PV solar farm project was split into 3 phases of which J&B Hopkins were contracted to install 1 phase of the works, with the size of 20Mwp.

The build was completed in 16 weeks and consisted of wiring, installation, connection and testing of all DC systems.

The project was completed within budget, on time and importantly to the client’s satisfaction.

Work is underway to redevelop Basingstoke’s ageing fire station. The current facilities used by the town’s fire crew date back to 1966 and is finally getting a facelift. The new station will accommodate improved modern living quarters, a training tower and smoke training building with all services provided by Hopkins. We have completed installations for a temporary fire station within existing building which will act as their temporary base while construction of the new station is being carried out.
