Portsmouth is a densely populated area with a real demand for affordable, premium later years care and Highwood’s scheme to create a stylish 60-bedroom care home has been designed to meet this need. J&B Hopkins carried out a design & build contract for all mechanical, electrical and public health services on the development and were involved in the design from the initial planning application stage. The project achieved a “Very Good” rating under BREEAM in part achieved by the innovative services design J&B Hopkins provided which included gas absorption heat pumps to generate domestic hot water.
