The Moulsecoomb Campus East consists of five new student accommodation tower blocks of differing heights from 9 to 18 storeys, offering 804 rooms in the heart of Brighton.
There is a podium deck level with landscaped gardens leading to the UOB Mithras House and access to the ground floor where the student union, gym, comical kitchen and energy centre are sited.

Egham is an historic town, and the Council is embarking on a sensitive redevelopment of part of the central area to create a new square, shops, a cinema and new housing. The plans will deliver 101 new homes and a 100 bed student accommodation block consisting of studio apartments and communal areas. Hopkins are undertaking the full M&E installation under a Design and Build contract with a target completion of January 2022.

Formerly part of Brunel University, Audley Villages, Cooper’s Hill, is a luxury retirement village located within the 66 acres of the Magna Carta Park in the village of Englefield Green, near Runnymede in Surrey. The village development will comprise of 128 high-end residential 2 bedroom apartments, extensive communal areas including a hobby room, hairdressing salon, library, guest facilities, swimming pool, gym, restaurant, bar/bistro and private dining areas.
The development is a mix of refurbishment and new build, with the build retaining an existing facade with new structures integrated and adjacent to the historic frontage connected by an underground parking facility. The old Cooper’s Hill House building which was built in the 1870’s is being restored to house the swimming pool, health and well-being areas as well as the all exemplary restaurant and bar bistro area.
Phase 1 of the project was handed over in November 2019, with Phase 2 planned to complete in March 2020.

A landmark project located in Sutton city centre, the new building comprises 140 Premier Inn bedrooms, of which 7 are universally accessible, with a 206 cover Bar + Block restaurant at street level. Full mechanical installation utilising a Mitsubishi City Multi VRF system coupled with central supply and extraction system with heat recovery, serving all bedrooms and restaurant, contributing towards the energy rating in order to comply with current building regulations and clients’ specification. In addition to the central ventilation heat recovery system, an air source heat pump has been installed to pre-heat the hotels hot water demand.

The Hilton Garden Inn, Abingdon, is a part refurbishment of an existing hotel combined with a new build. Inside the hotel consists of 146 bedrooms, restaurant, function suite, meeting rooms, bars, lounge areas and gym. The hotel is fully heated and cooled utilising high efficiency AHU’s and combined heat pump systems throughout to conform to the high quality set out by Hilton brand standards.

The Art Deco style pool redevelopment at Butlins, Bognor Regis involved the delivery of an exciting new leisure pool facility to replace the existing, which has now been demolished. Working to a demanding timescale to achieve completion and to facilitate business-critical opening dates for our Client.

Complete commitment to the project from planning, through design and on site was necessary to tie together a myriad of complex technical and sequencing challenges, working closely and collaboratively with all the specialist trades and the technical team.

Including four new leisure pools, multiple flume rides and water features, a ‘Toddler Seaside Playground’ pool with games, and a lazy river within the vibrant pool hall. Also servicing support facilities including large changing rooms catering for families and disabled visitors, café with viewing area and staff facilities.

Permission was granted for the demolition of the existing longstanding Pavilion Restaurant within the beautiful grounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. The new steel framed restaurant boasts a 400-cover capacity – divided into 117 internal places, 204 external places and a further 80 externally sheltered places. Striking in its design, the Pavilion Restaurant’s appearance is capped by a floating roof over a glass façade on all elevations. The catering kitchen and the functional areas are visually “encased” within an aged brass clad feature wall. This enhances the economic vitality and long-term conservation of the Gardens whilst protecting its status as an UNESCO World Heritage Site, Registered Park, Garden and Conservation Area.

The project is a pre designed scheme incorporating all mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services, which has been enhanced into a fully co-ordinated scheme along with the Architect, Client and Main Contractor.

Cumberland Place is a 12 storey building providing 143 studio bedrooms and 21 three-bedroom flats with supporting communal space at ground floor level, associated parking and other facilities such as a sky lounge on the 10th floor.

Portsmouth is a densely populated area with a real demand for affordable, premium later years care and Highwood’s scheme to create a stylish 60-bedroom care home has been designed to meet this need.
J&B Hopkins carried out a design & build contract for all mechanical, electrical and public health services on the development and were involved in the design from the initial planning application stage. The project achieved a “Very Good” rating under BREEAM in part achieved by the innovative services design J&B Hopkins provided which included gas absorption heat pumps to generate domestic hot water.
