A complete refurbishment of an existing 3 storey office building within the heart of Brighton, to a learning centre for the photographic department of the University of Brighton. The refurbishment consists of new workshops, darkrooms and lecture halls. Our brief was a design and build M&E services from the main intake position services to the building. This was a very challenging task taking into account the age of the building and the fact that all services would be on show, topped with low ceilings within the basement area. This meant that great care had to go into the selection equipment to give the best performance, aesthetically pleasing and within budget. We worked closely with the architect, client and end user to achieve this goal. The end product was outstanding, with a light airy comfortable place to work and study. Totally efficient LED lighting throughout with automatic lighting controls giving the faculty and students the right type of lux levels
