Mayflower Court in Southampton is a contemporary residential care home made up of 72 en-suite rooms meticulously finished to a very high standard. Hopkins carried out a design & build contract for all mechanical, electrical and public health services on the development and were involved in the design from the initial planning application stage. The project achieved a “Very Good” rating under BREEAM in part achieved by the innovative services design Hopkins provided which included gas absorption heat pumps to generate domestic hot water. The emergency nurse call system provides 24 hour care for older people, as well as specialist care for people living with dementia. The home offers best in class facilities, with en-suite rooms for 72 residents, as well as a café, hair and beauty salon, craft room, bakery, lounges, library and landscaped gardens.
